Venice!

After a loooong travel day, and a lengthy attempt to use the Italian version of the website to post to the blog, we wanted to let everyone know we arrived safely. Dinner was at an excellent pizzeria/pasta place (of course!) and then we spent a great evening walking around and window shopping. Lots of great photo ops, so look for pics and video to be posted soon.
More later. We are off to the island of Murano, as in the world famous glass maker.

  1. We took the boat to reach the Marconi Hotel in Venice. It was an amazing view of old buildings that had marvelous designs on the windows. When we got off the boat, we enjoyed looking at the Rialto Bridge but then we thought to ourselves “Oh, we need to hold our bags up the stairs then down the stairs to get to the hotel.” We then reached the hotel, and got our rooms assigned. After an hour, we started our tour around Venice. When we stopped in the middle of the bridge and gazed at the Grand Canal, we felt that we owned the city. The carved stairs and arches gave the illusion of an older time, transporting us to a time where Venice was a never-ending party. Venice was filled with tiny beautiful allies and was packed with tourists and shopping stores that made me want to spend all my money there. Whenever we got out of an alley, we see new architecture and it looks as if a new place outside of Venice.
We had our first dinner in a lovely restaurant. Most of us had delicious, Italian pizza. When we finished eating, the waiters surprised us with a birthday party, even though it was nobody’s birthday. They provided us with lemon cake after Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Mumford blew three candles. It was so lovely and kind of them. We left the restaurant with joy and excitement to tour Venice again at night time. We split into groups and walked through the allies, looked over the bridge and shopped and of course we took pictures. Then we got back to the hotel finding that the teachers are about to tour Venice, So India and I decided to tour Venice again with them. We put our jackets back in the hotel before going again because the weather got nicer that night. We ate some Gelato and took more pictures of the amazing view. Then after touring Venice several times and after the long travel, we couldn’t wait to be in bed for another adventure next day.
